What I am going to show you is much scarier and part of the blame for this disaster lies with the SUV driver who insists on driving the 2 blocks to get milk or Doritos from the store instead of walking.
What people fail to recognize is that Antarctica, the Arctic and the ice caps on Greenland represent a HUGE volume of water. Enough to raise sea levels to unprecedented heights and completely mess with the salinity of the water which would kill reefs, whole species of fish, corals and further up the food chain to us.
Imagine Miami, it’s sun soaked beaches and pastel coloured hotels and clubs lining the Ocean strip, the multi-million dollar mansions along the ICW or The Bay of Biscayne just steps from their private docks… 30ft under water.
Imagine living in NYC where usually having a walkup apartment is a pain in the a$$ but now you’re laughing because anyone on the ground and 2nd floors is swimming to their kitchens.
While you’re at it, imagine there’s no more Amsterdam too !! So no more hashish bars, so long Rembrandt, so long Edam and Gouda and Tulips…
Imagine countries like Bangladesh where annual flooding already displaces hundreds of thousands or the Seychelles, parts of Columbia, Pakistan etc… etc… Basically, any place that’s on the coast, which is where the majority of humans live nowadays, will be hit hard or simply cease to exist.
So keep it up everyone. Drive when you can walk, lets keep using disposable shit made from oil, let’s keep using chemicals that destroy the ozone and PLEASE…. let’s allow industry to keep dumping this toxic crap into our shared atmosphere. All for the sake of “progress” and corporate profits.
In the meantime, it’s hot as hell outside and I’m taking my dog for a walk and some swimming lessons !!
